Lemon Essential Oil

When life gives you lemons... its a GOOD thing! Seriously. Lemon essential oil is another of those must haves in our house.  There are SO many practical uses for it. Here are some of my favorites.

ANXIETY - Rub a few drops in your hands and inhale for an uplifting and fresh scent. In my experience, it is almost like a cleansing sensation.

POLLEN BLEND – relieve eyes & nose during the spring season by rubbing on nose or placing on hands, then cupping around nose & mouth and breathing in. (combine with peppermint & lavender) CLICK HERE for small intro kit of these 3 oils.

DETOX - Detox your gallbladder & liver by placing 1-3 drops in your water. (be sure to use Glass, Porcelain, or Metal). Removes petrochemicals from your body.  I generally put 1-2 drops in my water every morning. 1. because I get sick of plain ol water and 2. it is so good for your body!

ENERGY - boost your energy during a sluggish day by diffusing into air. It has such a clean crisp smell without all the harsh chemicals.

CLEANING - Clean counter tops & diffuse into air to purify. This also happens to work great for getting sticky residue cleaned up. You know when you pull the label off of something and it leaves behind that sticky papery residue. 1-2 drops of Lemon oil gets that up in a giffy! I use it on baby food jars to get labels and glue off all the time.

Aside from its many benefits to the body, Lemon is also a very powerful cleansing agent. With this mixture you can shine stainless steel, remove grime from microwaves, freshen up your garbage disposal, and even deep clean appliances like your washing machine and refrigerator.

Ingredients
5–10 drops Lemon oil
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar

Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a glass container and mix well.
Spray on the surface you wish to clean and wipe off with a clean cloth.

Tips: Use this mixture with a toothbrush, microfiber cloth, or other cleaning tool to dust, shine surfaces, and remove dirt and grime around the home. This mixture can be combined in a spray bottle and kept in your kitchen or bathroom for easy access to daily spills and messes. Shake well before each use.

COOKING: When we cook fish in our house I like to add a drop or 2 of lemon oil to the foil packet or the pan for some added flavor. Its great with lemon pepper chicken, fish, drinks, lemon cookies... basically anywhere that you would want lemon flavor.
